Candidate for Supervisor
As a nonprofit professional for more than 20 years, Maria has had the privilege of working with people of influence in many areas including education, healthcare and social services. She believes when there is a common vision, the only way to succeed is to respect our different life experiences and ideologies. She’s worked successfully with leaders and individuals from all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities. Maria is an Arlington Heights resident.

Philip “John” Geier
Candidate for Trustee
A resident of Arlington Heights for over thirty years, John is a retired counselor for those with mental illness, substance abuse, and intellectual disabilities. He’s been a program leader and administrator of services for those individuals over a thirty year career. He hopes that serving on the Township Board will help produce more equitable services for the people of Wheeling Township and increase transparency and fiscal responsibility.

Lorri Grainawi
Candidate for Trustee
Lorri, an Arlington Heights resident, is a retired director of a manufacturing trade association where she worked for over twenty-eight years. She was responsible for leading a number of committees, helping to teach her how to work with individuals with diverse opinions and reach compromises. She’s also a volunteer with the National Alliance for Mental Illness, and the Housing Task Force.

Austin Mejdrich
Candidate for Trustee
Austin is a dedicated public servant and changemaker passionate about making positive impacts in our communities. An Arlington Heights resident, Austin has served as the Chief of Staff for State Sen. Mark Walker for over five years. In that role, he has helped Wheeling Township residents access needed services, cut through bureaucracies, and listened to their concerns to implement change.

Sheri Williams
Candidate for Trustee
A Buffalo Grove resident, Sheri is an Audiologist and former PTO President at District 214 high schools. Sheri has also held lead positions in a major gun violence prevention organization since 2018. She believes her professional and volunteer experiences have allowed her to foster growth, engagement, and positive outcomes for all involved. She strives to support and advocate for people across all walks of life and show how their voices matter.
